icewater

There is pressure in the sky

And there’s pressure in my ears

But the script is set in stone

Always have to come back here

Where the memory of water

Haunts the pavement, making dank

All the walls and all the faces

Under a white sky so blank

Then I turn and see a face

A face that wants to see mine

It doesn’t seem to judge, in common

decency, to see mine

Fall into icewater

Blue light comes in waves

Her eyes clear as ice

Rush of blood that saves

Knew I’d face their eyes today

Knew the terms were theirs

Steely words were to be given

Still don’t know what’s fair

Step over the same ditch

Moving though the same door

But my mind is different

The memory has control

Till I

Fell into icewater

Blue light comes in waves

Her eyes clear as ice

Rush of blood that saves

Saved by the icewater

Blue light comes in waves

Her eyes clear as ice

Rush of blood the same

That sick feeling’s come and gone

Whatever I won’t complain

About feelings past me now

Meaning put on mortal games

Dark can only end in dawn

Stress remembered by release

She dissolved me in icewater

Burning cold and crystal peace

u r loved

u r loved

u r loved
